Ashokan Reservoir Walkway
Jog, rollerblade, bike, walk, visit the Ashokan Reservoir Walkway/Dam- 5- min. from the house: Directions; Take Route 28 West, make first left onto Reservoir Rd. (at Winchell’s Corners), Take to end, make forced left onto Basin Rd. Make first left again on to 28 A. Make first left in about 1 mile to the parking area. Map at link shows way to both walkways. There are two.

You’ll need a NYS Fishing License- can get one locally @ Olive’s Country Store, Route 28, Shokan, NY
Fish along any stream along the Esopus Creek – ask the locals for the best spots.

To fish in the Reservoir- You’ll need the following:

  1.  A NYC Watershed Access Permit, go here to complete online application and print out your permit.

  3. A row boat with life vests for each person. We can get you a rowboat, please ask if you are interested.

Woodstock Sledding Hill, Route 212, across from the Woodstock Post Office.A great place to bring the kids to sled. If you take the back way, less than10 min. from the house. It’s unsafe to sled on our property due to the steep drop off at the far edge of the lawn.
