A good place to stop for high-quality prepared food takeout (or limited, very casual eat-in) – great picnic fare! Also very nice dinner options and desserts, and a small gourmet market. If you’re an iced coffee drinker, they make their own coffee iced cubes, which is a nice (and addictive) touch.

Internationally inspired bistro fare in a fun, stylish setting. Great cocktails and wine list. Outdoor dining. A favorite in the area. Reservations recommended, especially on summer weekends. Address is Saugerties, but it’s really between Woodstock and Saugerties – 3 miles east of the village of Woodstock.

Great natural foods market. Less than 5 minutes from Hurley Ridge Market, makes a good second stop.

Boiceville Market

A good stop if you need to pick up a few things on your way back to the house from Phoenicia or points west. 10 minutes from the house; some organic produce and organic local milk, not a big fan of their meat/fish/chicken but good for veggies, milk, eggs and the basics. The best meat and fish is Woodstock Meat, Fleishers or Hurley Ridge Market.
